Across our entire company, we strive to create a product that is more sustainable and eco-friendly than virtually any other A/C on the market.&#xA0;Our A/C unit uses a state-of-the-art refrigerant called R32, specifically in our Medium unit. R32 is a coolant that produces 2/3rds less emissions than traditional A/Cs. Additionally, this refrigerant consumes 10% less electricity.&#xA0;We also partner with CarbonFund.org to offset emissions of the first year of use for every July we sell, with funds going directly to support reforestation.&#xA0;Our packaging is 90% recyclable, and we are on a path to 100%. Unlike most other A/Cs on the market, you won&apos;t find tons of useless plastic and material in our packaging.&#xA0;And, throughout our delivery season, we recycle or donate every used A/C that comes into our hands. We partner with <a href="https://carbonfund.org/">CarbonFund.org</a> to offset the emissions from the first year of use for every July we sell.We calculate the emissions by determining the typical energy consumption of a July A/C in one year (in reality, this will vary from person to person and place to place). We then use a calculator provided by CarbonFund.org to determine how many credits we need to buy for each A/C.Through CarbonFund.org, we support reforestation efforts in the US and around the globe. Most used A/C units end up in the landfill - with a profound negative environmental impact. Learn how we do our part to prevent that.

Most used A/C units end up in the landfill - producing the equivalent negative carbon impact of driving a car from Seattle to Miami for every A/C that does. As a company, we are committed to reversing this trend. Any working A/Cs that we receive as returns are donated to low-income families in need of cooling. If the unit isn&apos;t working, we recycle it, so that it doesn&apos;t end up in a landfill. We&apos;re always striving to find ways to reimagine how an appliance company can partake in sustainability and be part of the solution.If you know of any donation partners in the NYC area who would be willing to accept used A/Cs, please get in touch at <a href="mailto:support@july.ac">support@july.ac</a>. What happens to old July A/Cs?

Our shipping package is currently 90% recyclable, and we have a path to 100%. We use recycled corrugate cardboard for our exterior box. The clips on the side of your box are made from a bio-degradable plastic that will degrade naturally. The foam protector pieces are not yet recyclable, but we&apos;re working on it!
