What is a BTU?Updated a year ago

You're often going to hear the term "BTU" when figuring out which A/C is right for you. BTU, or "British thermal units," are a measure of cooling power. Depending on the size of your space (and some other factors), you'll need a certain amount of BTU power to effectively cool the room.

As a general rule, one square foot of space needs about 23-24 BTU to cool it effectively. This can vary though, depending on other factors present in your space. We've got a handy quiz that can help you identify which BTU size you'll need for your space: just click here.

Our Small July (6000 BTU) can cool rooms up to 250 sq. ft. large, and the Medium July (8000 BTU) can cool rooms up to 350 sq. ft. large.
